One example of this that speaks for itself is the discovery that the detection options and detection periods required to determine doping among sport horses are expanding at an extremely high rate, and have taken longer in each case than the riders and their vets could have imagined at the time they administered medication.Equestes © aims to publish recent developments and maintain a database in the fields of sport-related lameness, the veterinary supervision of horses, doping problems and also with respect to the pre-dating of illnesses and/or ailments which can make a purchased horse permanently unfit.
In addition, the members of the Expert Panel can engage in public discussions via a forum.
As another one of its objectives, Equestes © aims to establish a number of guidelines or norms via seminars and conferences which address veterinary/legal issues in the equestrian sports field.
